My favorite commercials from the 70s
This Dr. Pepper commercial is my all time favorite retro commercial. I love Dr. Pepper. I'm a bit surprised that they're not sold here.... I would imagine that ppl would like the flavor.... matter of fact, they have one of the best diet drinks, except for Pepsi. Both of these I can stand to drink. Diet Coke basically sucks in my opinion. But anyhoo.... enjoy.
I couldn't upload this video from YouTube... so follow the link below and you'll get to see my 2nd all favorite retro commercial. It's the old Oscar Mayer ad. It's the cutest ever.... by far. And you know... growing up, I must say that I had a lot of Oscar Mayer bologna. ummmm.... some of my favorite sandwiches were made from this bologna. It's just delish when you add miracle whip w/ crunched up Lay's chips.... aaahhh just heaven!! :) And... I love to fry it w/ cheese on top, and then make a sandwich w/ mustard.... and some good chips and tomato soup on the side. Aaaahhhhhh... the memories.
And... w/out giving anything away, if you haven't seen the video.... I just love how he shakes his little foot ..... he's so into it... and then the ending.... PRICELESS!!!
Oscar Mayer bologna.....

hehe I started a craze ! 1st gazza now it's you T :) wonder who'll be next ! :P
Regarding the ad, why do I feel that I've seen it before ? Maybe a remake ? Not sure :S
munther, you know, i think they've remade this one a few times, but not sure. this is the first, i think. i remember it. makes me want a dr. pepper!!
Oscar Myer has a name it's
B O L O G N A!
Can you believe that its one of your neices favorite sandwhiches too and she just LOVES tomato soup so it must run in the family!
Guess I'll stock up for the end of the year.... :-)
Is that Tony Danza or Scott Bayo?
they do sell Dr.pepper in bahrain, at least when I was there. I love Dr.pepper. I used to get it from Al jazeera in manama. The one with the Starbucks. I love bologna too and yea I thought I was the only person who puts chips in my sandwiches.
Yeah they still do ! I think the comments on my blog earlier confused you T ! :P
Dr p entered the market late over here (90s) while it was at the US and maybe UK forever "I was meaning to say that" ! I think I needed to clarify this. Now regarding finding luxury stuff (imports) Al-Osra supermarket (Saar) has 'em all ! Dr P, Iron Brew and the whole works ! Helps me coup with living in Bahrain ! Mainly UK stuff when it comes to fizz though :) Imports are quite expensive though compared with their original prices but hey, who cares ? Its Dr P for god's sake !
janeen, i didn't realize that sweetnesses favorite sandwich was good ole bologna. we should share that when i come to visit next time :) and... that actor/singer in the commercial is neither. i have no idea who it is... but it's not those guys.
memo, well, i learn something new every day. funny how UNoften i buy sodas at the store. if i want something, it's usually quick from the cold store. so i'll check it out and get myself some diet dr. pepper. ummmm... haven't had em in a LONG time.
munther, i was totally confused. and yeah, the imported stuff is expensive, especially at al osra.... we spend a small fortune every time we go there, since they also carry gatoraid and not sure any others do... but anyhow, glad to know it's available. :)
The Dr Pepper ad is great, how cool is that guy lol?that kid is so cute on the bologna ad(althogh i have no idea what bologna is ?)
gazza, it's sandwich meat.... like the stuff you can get prepackaged (the way this came and still does) or you know when you go to the meat counter and ask for 12 slices of the roasted chicken or ham or such....
i will have to watch these when I get home...I wonder if I will recognise any from US replay shows...definitely the Oscar Meyer one anyway.
LOL the Dr Pepper ad was so corny! But a good memory if you grew up then. I don't think that was the Oscar Mayer ad I was thinking of and don't know it either.
Do you remember the Welch's grape juice ad from the late 90s with a cheeky looking boy who says the juice "gets in yer cheekth"
He was cute.
olivia, i don't remember that ad that you're speaking of... but it sounds adorable. i found this really interesting link to retro stuff called www.retrojunk.com. you can find old commercials, tv shows and stuff.... it brought back so many memories...
and yeah, that dr. pepper ad was corny, but boy it was the thing then!! and for some reason.... there's something about little kids doing commercials. i just love it.
bringing up another subject, have you ever watched those cosby out takes or even david letterman where he talks to little children and asks them all sorts of adult questions? i think johnny carson used to do it as well. oh gosh... funny, funny stuff!!
