i'm not answering

I'll tell ya... I get so freggin sick of ppl calling and not hanging up after a few rings. It would be different if we didn't have a baby, but Lord knows they don't think about that, now do they?!!

I don't know what's up w/ my in-laws, specifically my SIL, but when she gets a hair up her ass, she doesn't seem to be able to get it out.

I'm so tired of her calling and letting the phone ring off the hook. The baby is sleeping and the fact that she doesn't give a rat's ass is really more than I can take... but, I guess that's why they have silence on the phone? Right!?

So... if you call and I don't answer, maybe THE BABY IS SLEEPING!!!!

sorry friends... I'm online and thought I'd just send these happy thoughts your way! :)

Isn't it nice to know I haven't lost my spunk?!!

Happy notes are in the air :))

u r overreacting, put the phone to silence mode or take the plug out and let ppl call all the day.

There is nothing worse than someone who keeps calling or ringing the doorbell when your baby is (finally) asleep. I would get so damn angry (mostly because I was so sleep-deprived and had worked so hard to get my babies to sleep) that I began turning the ringers off on the phones and hanging a sign on the door to tell people to be quiet. I hear you, sister. People who know you have a baby should know better.

It might be an urgent call so you do have to keep the line open. Can you make it quieter perhaps? Or how can you help your baby to sleep through noise? I know, the phone is sharp and sudden. Seems the phone is too close to the baby's cot.
I don't remember our kids ever being woken up by the phone, but of course they were little Fijian kids and not much fazed and my house helper sang a lot of the time anyway or I would have music playing.

Heh! You're funny when you rant, and then you make your concession, usually with "but, I guess..."

Yep, have figured you out Um!

Anyway, sounds like it's time for you to sniff some lavender, ya know? Are you getting a full night's sleep?

Wendy has a good point about making it quieter. If the phone rings is there a flashing light? Vibrate? Hm, they need to start making em just like cell phones.

If to take into account what Jane said that it is very hard to make a baby sleep, then u r not overreacting. Sometimes its hard to put yourself in other's shoes.

Good luck with the phones.

what really annoys me is when people call like 5, 6 or 7 times... and i check my phone and theres god knows how many missed calls there from one person. you know, if i SEE my phone after the first or second call, ill pick up/call back. if not, dont bother calling me! i probably cant answer you #%$%@&&

I once blew my stack at a phone salesman who, after having called us at least a dozen times before and been told politely to go bite himself, finally called after 10 p.m. when my kids were trying to sleep. I'm sure my extraordinarily, bile-drippingly rude Japanese at a personal record decibel level made sure my kids were awake if the ringing phone didn't, but I definitely made an impression on the caller. He kept right on asking politely for me to put my wife on the phone, but it sounded like he was in tears as he did so. Anyway, he never called back after that.

About six months later we started getting calls from a different person from the same company...

what sunshine is saying is totally right. I can give more examples but i think that it is so obvious that doesnt need any examples.

Also the comment previous to sunshine is fairly relevant

sorry for not responding ... but we've had no internet here at the house. trying to get an upgraded line and it takes forever!

anyway... that particular day, she was being rude and calling off the wall because she wanted her steamer back... steamer for the babies' bottles. she had lent it to me and called outta the blue to demand it back (this was the night before w/ my husband). so... when she called 6 times, i knew that was why and i refused to get into a thing w/ her while he was sleeping... knowing it would wake him.

thankfully i'm taking a long needed/deserved break from my in-laws.
